Description

The exact distance to the Triangulum Galaxy (M33) isn't known, but it is thought to be about three million light years away and may be a satellite galaxy for Andromeda. It is the third largest galaxy in the Local Group after Andromeda and the Milky Way. It is, perhaps, best known for its rich star forming regions which are prominent as red/pink areas in this picture.
